About Compass

Compass Counseling and Psychotherapy, LLC was founded by a mental health therapist and a seasoned business professional to provide high quality mental health and social service support to individuals and families living in the state of New Jersey. We strive to go beyond what is required because we believe in giving people possibilities to be self-sufficient and satisfied. Our mission at Compass is simple: To help people get to where they want to be.

Our Team

Compass has a diverse group of dedicated staff. We have Licensed Professional Counselors, Clinical Social Workers and Marriage Family Therapists (LPC, LCSW, LMFT), and Behavior Assistants. Compass licensed clinicians have a vast amount of experience and have worked in various clinical and professional settings. They are very consistent, flexible, dedicated and patient.

Our clinicians have training in a variety of areas including, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, oppositional defiance, attention deficit disorder, post-traumatic stress disorders, eating disorder, parent-child conflict, and sexual abuse issues. Our therapists use a variety of evidence based techniques including but not limited to trauma focused cognitive therapy, nurtured heart, cognitive behavior therapy, play therapy, mindfulness therapy and structural family therapy, etc. Many of the clinicians participate in peer supervision and frequently attend training.

Our behavior assistants work as social workers, teachers, administrators and various other positions where they must utilize interpersonal skills. Compass behavior assistants enjoy working with people. They are friendly, intelligent, and have exceptional communication skills. Our clinicians and behavior assistants are active in their communities, volunteering and participating in advocacy and public policy to improve the community for everyone. As a team they are second to none.
